### Summary
**About the Position:** The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain half way between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, Alabama just off interstate 20. The depot is the largest Employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.
**This position is a TERM position.**
It is a time limited position and may be extended up to a maximum of six years. This position may be converted to a permanent, career or career-conditional appointment without further competition as long as all requirements are met. To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive serve **AND** employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of a least fully successful or equivalent."

### Responsibilities
* Maintain the supervisor's daily calendar, establishes priorities, and schedules meetings and appointments.
* Employee independently reviews incoming correspondence requiring supervisor's signature and outgoing correspondence for content, correct grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and appropriate format.
* Prepares outgoing non-technical correspondence such as, office procedures, Congressional or other sensitive matters, and requests for information. Independently makes travel arrangements.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. **Specialized Experience GS-07:**One year of specialized experience which includes written correspondence, using word processing tools, gathering and analyzing data, receive telephone inquiries, route incoming and outgoing mail, and greet visitors. Skills in administrative concepts and office practices, maintaining a daily calendar, establishing priorities, scheduling meetings and appointments; composing non-technical correspondence, reports or similar materials from handwritten or electronic drafts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education:** One full year of graduate level education which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
**OR**
**Combination of Education and Experience:** A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
**Specialized Experience GS-08:** One year of specialized experience which includes advising secretaries and other clerical staff on the appropriate correspondence procedures. Knowledge of various PCs and soft-wares such as word processors, graphics, spreadsheets, database management systems, and communications to produce a wide range of documents. Skill in operating standard office equipment such as typewriters, copiers and fax machines. Establish and maintain suspense files for projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

**Education:** One and a half years of graduate level education which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position..
**OR
Combination of Education and Experience:** A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond one year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages.
